PngDonut is a free online library of transparent PNG images and browser-based image tools, built for designers, marketers, students, teachers, small-business owners and anyone who needs a clean visual asset in a hurry.

The problem we set out to solve

Anyone who has tried to find a simple transparent cutout online knows the frustration: stock-photo sites bury free images behind paid plans, force an account before you can download anything, stamp a watermark across the file, or hand you a PNG that turns out to have a faint white box around the edges instead of true transparency. Search results are often cluttered with low-resolution reuploads, broken links, or images licensed in ways that are unclear or restrictive. For a student finishing a school project at midnight, a small-business owner building a flyer, or a designer racing a deadline, that friction costs real time.

PngDonut exists to remove that friction. Every image in our library is checked for genuine alpha transparency, sized for practical use, and organised so it can actually be found — no account, no watermark, no expiring "free trial", and no surprise paywall after you have already picked your image.

Why we built PngDonut

We started this project because we were the frustrated users ourselves — repeatedly downloading "free" PNGs that were not actually free to use commercially, or that loaded a wall of pop-ups before the download link even appeared. We wanted a straightforward alternative: pick an image, see exactly what you are getting (resolution, file size, licence terms), and download it immediately. That simple idea is still the core of how the site works today.

How we keep the site free

Running the servers, storage and bandwidth behind a growing image library costs money. We keep every download free by showing advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense, rather than charging users or restricting access behind a paywall. Respecting rights holders

We take copyright seriously. If you believe an image on the Site was uploaded without proper authorisation, our DMCA Policy explains how to request its removal, and we act promptly on valid notices.
